Collection: Peter Mattinson

Pete has had a lifelong passion for artwork and has developed individual techniques for both paintings and his three dimensional work.

Success came early when he won the Brooke Bond prize for art when at school and since than has worked on a wide variety of projects incorporating many disciplines into his work.

In the eighties, he began making scale copies of buildings and ornate furniture which quickly became in demand with work going to clients in Britain, America, Europe and Australia.
Work has been commissioned by museums and specialist retailers as well as private collectors.

His work has been displayed at such prestigious locations in the UK as The Shakespeare Trust properties, The National Trust, the Ferens Gallery and internationally at the Bruce Museum in New York. one particular highlight was a piece of work being displayed by invitation at The National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C.
Pete works with an impressionists approach rather than photo realism using a bright pallet and strong contrasts to create a particular atmosphere within his work.
