I recently re-worked this painting to improve it...and it has worked! The view is off Lifeboat Bay beach on the extraordinary Llyn Peninsula. We had spent a blissful afternoon sketching and enjoying a prosecco or two with friends...and out of the blue blue sky appeared this little wisp of mist cutting across the view to Yr Eifl.

So it's always interesting to take an existing painting and try re-working it (following in the footsteps of Cezanne, to name one of my art heroes). I'm thrilled with the results here. The foreground had a series of near identical boats...the replacement fishing boat (taken from a sketch of mine) creates much more of an introduction. And then over the sea the shoreline works better...much more believable now that it's closer to horizontal. And, most importantly, the colours on the far shore are infinitely more dynamic.
